OXYMORON…”The combination of contradictory words.” You must know I am talking about out very own Department of Justice. For the past seventeen months, Eric Holder has made a mockery of what once was the bastion of genuine justice within the United States. Decision after decision has been made that reduces this Department to a rubber stamp of an out-of-control White House.
And you know who I mean.
This week Holder and minions filed a law suit against the sovereign state of Arizona. Not content with wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, it appears the boss-man now wants to go to war with Arizona. “Justice” tells us that Arizona is trying to “second guess” the government. Tuesday they filed a lawsuit challenging the state’s immigration policy. Their claim? That this “invalid” law interferes with federal immigration responsibilities and “must be struck down.”
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The jist of the “justice” brief put it this way. The Arizona law hampers the authority of Barack Obama to enforce national immigration policy. It also places significant burdens on federal agencies. Federal laws do not permit the development of a “patchwork of state and local immigration policies” it contends. Our most “honorable” AG weighs in with…”Setting immigration policy and enforcing immigration laws is a national responsibility” quoth he.
Well yeah. No argument there. The problem is that the Obama administration flat will not do it.

There is essentially no difference between the Arizona law and the existing federal law. The new Arizona law makes it a crime to be in the state without proper immigration papers and requires local police to determine if people are in the country legally. It specifically states this check can ONLY be made in conjunction with an official police matter. This angers Obama/Holder because the local fuzz are not federal agents responsible for immigration matters. (Golly-sakes) Good at using talking-point language, the administration holds that “racial profiling” will be the likely outcome. Remember our “Dear Reader” joked about Daddy and kid having an ice cream and being checked? Believe he joked, “Adios Amigo.”

According to legalman/legalwoman, the issue will boil down to the “Supremacy” clause, which states federal law trumps state law. According to experts this won’t work because Arizona law duplicates federal law. It gives the state a mechanism to enforce federal law, to turn over people police have a reasonable suspicion may be illegal. “Supremacy” only works when a state law is “contrary” to federal law of the Constitution. In 2002, DOJ issued a memo that is likely to come back and haunt them. It concludes that state police have “inherent power” to arrest undocumented immigrants for violating federal law.
Looks to me like ONE MORE TIME the Obama clan is defying the will of the American people. Want to take bets on it continuing to happen?

The Prez, I would guess, is growing accustomed to reading Polls in which his “side” does not fare well. Now he has another (as if he cared). 60% of Americans back Arizona. Every politician from Arizona deplore this latest Holder legal action, and that includes three democrat reps. Senators McCain and Kyle, both Republicans, had this to say in a letter addressed to the “Won.” “The American people must wonder whether the Obama administration is really committed to securing the border when it sues a state that is simply trying to protect its people by enforcing immigration law.”
We are supposed to be a nation ruled by law. Obama is not exempt from this. He cannot pick and choose which laws he will enforce. America has had enough. Soon he will have to face the fact that America today is not happy with him.
