Obama announced that “tonight, I’m directing my Administration to open more than 75 percent of our potential offshore oil and gas resources.” For those who favor energy production, this sounds great, but a close inspection reveals that this announcement was nothing new — the sale should have been scheduled last year, and the only reason the administration is planning it now is that it is required under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. In fact, he didn’t direct his administration to do anything new — he just recycled a plan actually released in November 2011 that actually kept closed key areas for future oil and gas exploration in Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic coastline.

The president claimed that, “over the last three years, we’ve opened millions of new acres for oil and gas exploration…. Right now, American oil production is the highest that it’s been in eight years. That’s right — eight years.” But that’s no thanks to the federal government. In fact, oil production on federally owned lands has gone down during Obama’s first three years. The administration didn’t hold a single offshore lease sale in all of 2010 and canceled sales off the coast of Alaska and Virginia this year. It’s the oil boom in North Dakota on private lands that’s kept domestic oil production from falling — not the president’s policies.

Obama continued, “The easiest way to save money is to waste less energy. So here’s another proposal: Help manufacturers eliminate energy waste in their factories and give businesses incentives to upgrade their buildings.” But manufacturers already have huge incentives to reduce wasted energy. Airlines today, for example, use almost half as much energy per passenger mile as they did in 1979 and 24 percent less than in 2000. No one needed to tell them to do that. Energy is only “waste” if it cost less to save it than to not. Forcing taxpayers to pick up the tab for manufacturers’ energy costs isn’t eliminating energy waste — it’s creating government waste.

Obama has already been burned by his poor energy investments, but that hasn’t stopped him from promoting them in every speech. “In three years, our partnership with the private sector has already positioned America to be the world’s leading manufacturer of high-tech batteries,” he said in reference to stimulus grants to an electric car battery manufacturer. That manufacturer was Ener1. Two days later, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The president insists that it’s time to “double-down on a clean energy industry that’s never been more promising. Pass clean energy tax credits and create these jobs.” Double-down on a slew of bankrupt clean energy investments? In addition, Ener1, Evergreen Energy, and Amonix — all of which received millions of taxpayer dollars — have either gone bankrupt (as Enr1 and Evergreen have) or cut their workforce by two-thirds (as Amonix has). And let’s not forget Solyndra.

To be clear, the president does oppose some taxpayer-funded projects: “We have subsidized oil companies for a century. That’s long enough. It’s time to end the taxpayer giveaways to an industry that’s rarely been more profitable.” The oil industry does receive some subsidies — which should be eliminated — but they are orders of magnitude less than the clean energy industry. In fact, in 2010, according to the Energy Information Administration, clean energy and conservation programs received $22.4 billion in federal stimulus compared to $4.2 billion for coal, oil, and natural gas — much of it designated for the environmentally motivated “clean coal” program.

The president made it clear that no Congress will stop his agenda. “So far, you haven’t acted,” he told Congress. “Well tonight, I will…. I’m proud to announce that the Department of Defense, the world’s largest consumer of energy, will make one of the largest commitments to clean energy in history — with the Navy purchasing enough capacity to power a quarter of a million homes a year.” The role of the Defense Department isn’t to promote the president’s energy investments, it’s to defend the United States. Forget energy independence — our defense will now be weather dependent. If only we could get battleships that comply”

I will vote for Obama because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the Obama Regime taxing that same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

I will vote for Obama because I believe HE will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I will vote for Obama because “Freedom of Speech” is fine as long as no one is offended by it.

I will vote for Obama because I am way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I will vote for Obama because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Chevrolet Volt.

I will vote for Obama because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted as long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

  I will vote for Obama because I believe all illegal aliens have the right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

I will vote for Obama because I believe business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves.  They need to break even and give the rest away to the Regime for redistribution to the “poor” as it sees fit.

I will vote for Obama because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few years to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I will vote for Obama because I think it is better to pay billions to people who hate us for their oil, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle or gopher.

Lastly, I am voting for Obama because while we live in the “greatest and most wonderful county in the world,” I was promised ”HOPE AND CHANGE.”

After reviewing all I have studied, I think I will change my mind.

We are perilously close to the point of no return on Iran’s nukes. Israel has managed to stave off their progress somewhat by taking down a plant in Syria and by unknown others taking out nuclear scientists and letting the Stuxnet Worm do its damage.

Israel will need to make a major move soon if they are to have a prayer of taking out Iran’s capabilities – in fact, it may already be too late. They have made the tactical error of listening to the radical Progressive leadership in DC and it may cost them everything. No American hero on a white steed will ride to the rescue this time. Panetta has made it abundantly clear – R2P for Syria is a possibility, but hands off Iran. Unless of course, Obama has to have an Iranian war for reelection, in which case, I believe that Panetta will make it as bloody as possible, with Israel being the sacrificial lamb on the Marxist altar of a New World Government. The elite leadership in the US is no longer a friend to Israel – or at least one they can count on. Sadly, they are on their own as they have always been and I believe the evil that is brewing across the globe is bearing down on them. We will all pay a horrible price if we let Israel be savaged by the Iranians and radical Islam, backed by Russia and China.

The Ayatollah came out today and last week through the Internet and in fiery speeches called again for the destruction of Israel and the killing of all Jews. The Iranian government has also laid out a legal and religious doctrine that includes wiping out Israeli assets and Jewish people worldwide.

Because Israel is going to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, Iran is justified in launching a pre-emptive, cataclysmic attack against the Jewish state, the doctrine argues.

And the rhetoric is heating up explosively day by day. This won’t go on much longer before something boils over. Tiny Israel will have no choice but to preemptively protect herself or try to save herself afterwards.

• 400 are slaughtered in Syria, while the UN tries to mandate a resolution. Russia and China block the resolution. And to sweeten the poison, Syria is close to having a civil war break out.

• Libya – whom we cheered on in the Arab Spring – had their militia torture their Ambassador to France to death after pulling out his toe nails. Yep, this is what democracy looks like.
• Iranian war ships have docked in a Saudi port. Iranian naval ships docked on Saturday in the Saudi port city of Jeddah on a mission to project the Islamic republic’s “power on the open seas.”
• Iran has begun mass production of an anti-ship cruise missile.
• Egypt on Sunday referred 43 NGO workers, including 19 Americans, to trial before a criminal court for allegedly using illegal foreign funds to foment unrest.
• Iran’s Revolutionary Guard began military exercises Saturday in the country’s south, the latest show of force after threats to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for tougher Western sanctions.
• Israeli facilities worldwide are on high alert against an attack from Iran, according to an internal security document obtained by ABC News.From NewsMax:
  

  “We predict that the threat on our sites around the world will increase … on both our guarded sites and ‘soft’ sites,” read a letter by the head of security for the Consul General for the Mid-Atlantic States, ABC News reported. • Iran is warning of a coming ‘great event.’ Since they believe that 2012 is the return of the Mahdi, you do the math.

So, whether you call it Armageddon or Ragnarok, Iran wants to bring it on and fast. It’s the end of the world baby and they’re feeling fine. There is a reason the US does not show up in end times eschatology. Will we write our own future and defend God’s chosen people? Or, will we slink into oblivion and fall to the enemy? Billions are dying to know, or getting ready to any way.”

Interesting which states have the highest death-by-gun rates.  Please Google that and then you will know.  I think you know the answer now.  Florida has a “Castle Doctrine” which basically states if any individual enters your home illegally you have permission to blow them away.  This “blow-away” opportunity has presented itself several times since the law was passed.  One such occasion concerned a seventy year old widow lady who awoke to find an intruder entering her bedroom.  She picked up her weapon and blew him away.

Sarah Dawn McKinley was at home in rural Oklahoma on NYE.  Two men began pounding on her door.The 18 year old had lost her husband to cancer on Christmas Day and was alone with her infant son.  She barricaded the door with a sofa, grabbed a pisol and a shotgun, and dialed 911.  “Is it OK to shoot him if he comes thru the door?” she asked.  “Do what you have to do to protect your baby,”she was told.  One of the men, armed with a knife, kicked down the door.  She did what she had to do.  She shot and killed the intruder.

And then we have the “Nanny States,” the poster child of which is NYC.  Trans-fats, smoking, (OMG!), sugar, you name it.  Bloomie (you remember the old balding guy that bought his election, with the help of his live in lovely but wrinkled squeeze) really truly HATES guns.  His hatred of guns is so intense that the incidence of gun deaths has “inched” up, rather dramatically.  What to do?  Tighten the rules, of course.

Have you read the rash of stories coming from NYC about out of state visitors politely asking security personnel where they should check their handguns and then being arrested for their trouble?  The tourists in question all have carry permits from their home states, but these are not recognized in this “super-safe” city.  One little old lady was visitng the site of the WTC and got arrested.

Here is another example.  28 year old Ryan Jerome of Indiana, a jeweler carrying $15,000 worth of gold, who tried to check his weapon with guards at the Empire State Building.  Jerome spent two-days in jail and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three and one half years if found guilty.  Get this.  Before entering his present profession Jerome was a Marine.  Now his fellow Marines are coming to his aid and sending letters all over the place.  In the real world, he will be let go.  In a real world, this incident would never have happened.  But Nanny’s city is NOT real world.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Don’t you get tired of it when you run into a ProgLib anti-gun fruitcake who makes snide comments?  I once knew a female who was the epitome of smugness in this area (and many others, unfortunately).  She was studying to become a lawyer.  By now, she may well be one.  A ProgLib, of course.  Next time you run into one of these types, here are a few responses you can use.

“I’ll never own or touch a gun.  They have no purpose.”  Retort:  “Why don’t you post a sign that says just that outside your front door?”

“I don’t believe in guns.”  Retort:  “Let me assure you, they DO exist.”

“Why do you carry a gun?  Are you planning on shooting someone?”  Retort:  “Why do you wear a seat belt?  Are you planning on an accident?”

“Guns cause crime.”  Retort:  “Spoons cause fat.”

“I don’t think just anybody should have a gun.”  Retort:  “I agree completely but the damned criminals just won’t listen.”

“Guns cause crime.”  Another possible Retort:  “I was thinking of a pithy reply to your ignorant statement but now I can see the problem…..you are an idiot.”

“You’re carrying a gun?  Why?  How often do you think people get killed out here anyway?”  Retort:  “Once.”

I would not expect the Second Amendment to be much of a discussion subject this year.  However, Obama always has an agenda just below the radar and this most certainly is one such example.  Also, keep your eye on the UN.  Global Governance is their goal.  Obama subscribes to that goal.  He sees himself on the “throne.”

• According to Obama’s own chief actuary in the Department of Health and Human Services, ObamaCare will savage Medicare by cutting $575.1 billion in this decade alone.
• One website says that ObamaCare “will affect all aspects of health care for seniors — coverage, prices, and access.”
• “Medicare Advantage” — the popular program which gives seniors more choices in healthcare — is already being decimated by ObamaCare with major insurers dropping the plan altogether and Obama’s actuary projecting a 50% reduction in the program by 2017.
• And then there’s the reality of HEALTHCARE RATIONING that will be implemented by ObamaCare’s “Independent Payment Advisory Board” — appointed by Obama with the power to make Medicare rationing decisions without Congressional oversight!

Of course, many seniors have been kept in the dark — even deceived about ObamaCare by the nation’s largest membership association of seniors, AARP.  As if we did not have enough to worry about during these days of “Enemy in the White House,” consider what is happening, and more importantly, what is being said or implied reference Iran’s nuclear weapon push and the implications.

Obama says in an interview that America is doing all it can to seek a diplomatic solution to this “challenge.”  He maintains that he will not take military action off the table.  His flak (that would be Panetta) over at the Pentagon, suggests Israel may well attack Iran nuke facilities within the next couple months.  Now, why would Pabetta say this?  Israel remains tight lipped.  The world worries and waits.

Consider this possibility  I believe Obama WANTS Israel to attack Iran.  He will do whatever it takes to be re-elected.  To him, this seems the best way.  In the event of middle east hostilities he can truly assume the mantle of Commander-in-Chief and preside over the challenges such an Israeli action would cause.  The devastation and loss of life would be horrendous.  The world would see oil prices go out of sight as Iran seeks to close the Straits of Hormuz.  The middle east would be near all out war with Israel if not actually engaged.  The UN would be flumoxed and busily stumbling around and blaming both Russia and China for this debacle because of their Security Council actions.  In every scenario, Obama sees himself as the true leader, the legit winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and assured of re-election. 

After all, who would want to change leaders in the midst of this major major crisis??

                                       Can you say, “Four More Years”??

The divide between Israel and America becomes wider with the passing of each day.  In spite of Obama protestations, the fact is that Israel in no way trusts Obama (I don’t at all blame them).  Israel absolutely refuses to promise Obama that it will seek US approval before making a preemptive strike against Iranian nukes, or to even tell Obama about it before a strike starts.  This obviously does not please His Lordship but he will proceed to produce his desired situation.

Some wonder if Obama would not, in fact, prefer Iran to make the first move, whether attempting to close the Straits, an actual rocket attack on Tel Aviv, or advancing and perhaps crossing the Iran/Iraq border.  I would think he would not prefer the last possibility because he would be criticized for our shoddy withdrawal from Iraq.

                                                      Even “baby steps” will work

In this regard, I would wonder in view of all options on the table and the Obama Regime is in lock-step with Israel about Iran, why then is Obama repeatedlyh warning Israel not to defend herself against Iran.

It is easy to see why Barack Obama favors terrorists in their war against the Jewish state.  Their methods are quite similiar.  Just like Palestinian President Abbas, Obama says one thing to the media, then uses his surrogates (read Panetta) to say the complete opposite.  Frequently, Obama will talk from both sides of his mouth, believing we are so enraptured with the Super Bowl, American Idol, or Jersey Shore, that we won’t remember what he said just last week.

Perhaps the most positive thing that can be said about Obama’s comments about Iran and his relationship with Israel on this issue is that he is LYING.  But then, what else is new?

This past week the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the numbers for January.  Once again the Unemployment Number fell ‘Unexpectedly’.  The most ‘Unexpected’ component of the most recent number is that an additional 1.2 MILLION U.S. Workers have ‘Disappeared’ from the U.S. Workforce.

QUESTIONS:

1. Are U.S. Workers REALLY disappearing at a rate of  38,710 per day?

2. Are aliens AMONG U.S.?

3. If folks falling ‘out of the workforce’ ARE, in fact, disappearing in bulk…    why IS the unemployment rate still so HIGH???

All questions will be answered, but you’ll need to re-think logic as you have always known it.

The nice folks at the Bureau of Labor Statistics told me so, that’s how.  Yeah, they reported yesterday that 1,200,000 people were ‘OUT’ of the workforce.  With fewer people ‘IN’ the workforce it means that the unemployment rate MUST go down.  Right?  Fewer people ‘ready, willing, and able’ to work makes YOUR employment opportunities that much better!!!

Yeah, so what what happened to roughly 1.2 MILLION US Workers (since last month)?

Two words for you: ”Space-Alien Abduction”!  (Joke, that’s four words, if you, um, count the hyphen.) 

Yeah, could be, but the actual ’disappearing workers’ thing from the BLS IS two words, the first word begins with ‘Bull’ and the second word ends with ‘__ __ it’. 

(Fill in your own blanks on this one.)

President Barack Obama said the drop in the jobless rate is a sign the recovery is getting stronger, and extending a cut in the payroll tax will provide more fuel for the economy.

He went on to say, “Let me be clear, if we clap REALLY REALLY hard; the Fairies who control our Economy will be once again healthy enough to reduce our employment rate to 5.5% like it was when GW Bush left office.”

While the last quote above is NOT, hmm, let’s say ‘factually attributable to the President’, I do believe that President Obama believes in Fairies.  Why? 

Because Fairies believe in President Obama. of course!  

Yes, the wee folk who flit from tree to tree spreading magical goodness across the land believe in President Barack Hussein Obama. 

Unfortunately, he lost the Minotaur vote yesterday when the Senate said ‘Bestiality’ was pretty much cool from a legislative perspective.  And as we all know, Minotaurs have no use for, well, you know…  

“Hey buddy, get off my _ _ _!”  No, the bestiality thing is not cool with minotaurs.      

Mermaids, to date, have been relatively quiet on the subject of the President’s re-election chances, but King Neptune is still really P/O’d about that Gulf spill from Earth Day, 2010.  

Yes, President Obama, you will receive NO Mermen votes in November of 2012 (outside of Illinois, of course.  As everyone knows, even dead Mermen vote Democratic up there).

So, the fantasy continues, for the past six months I’ve heard that no President has ever been elected with an unemployment rate of greater than 8% and now, magically, improbably, and unexpectedly, the rate drops a full four-tenths of a percent to 8.6% because…

1.200,000 People have disappeared from the work force. 

And,

243,000 Jobs were added (most, admittedly, from part time, seasonal employment according to the article quoted).     

Stunning, isn’t it?

I even wrote about how the Department of Bureau and Labor Statistics gets all ‘jiggy’ with numbers when it needs to.  And, a long time ago, back in February 10, 2010 (this seems a REALLY long time ago when measured in “Obama Years” I wrote…

When the most recent unemployment rate was announced (dropping the Unemployment from 9.4% to 9.0% with VIRTUALLY no job growth) you may have wondered, “How could this BE? How could the economy not add jobs but the unemployment rate went DOWN???”

Well, it’s a ‘Math Thing’ again. It works like this:

EXAMPLE A:

If you have 900 people employed, your unemployment rate is 10%.
EXAMPLE B: Now assume that the number of ‘total jobs’ available DROPS to 925.

If you have 850 people employed, your unemployment rate is 8.1%

So, even though you have FEWER people working, your unemployment rate goes DOWN.

This, and the following, accounts for our most recent reduction in the percentage of unemployed.

Question?  How do you explain to your eighteen year old son exactly WHY he is in Afghanistan?  And what is his purpose, other than to serve as cannon fodder for a dufus CinC who has no use for anything military and is only concerned with his re-election?

CORPSE SITS NINE-HOURS AT GAMING STATION…..Focus, focus, focus!  That is apparently what some do when sitting at gaming stations, whether at home or out.  In Taiwan, a man died while playing video games at an internet cafe.  He went unnoticed by fellow gamers for around nine hours.  A young man, he died continuing to  sit upright, hands still on the controls.  The 30-plus gamers did not notice, mesmerized by their respective games, I would suppose.  And we worry about our children and their fixation with Facebook and Twitter.  Should we?

ARTIST SHOWS OBAMA TRAMPLING THE CONSTITUTION…..The painting is called “The Forgotten Man.”  It was painted by Jon McNaughton.  What does it depict that gets the interest of so many Americans?  Try this.  It shows a man in the throes of depression sitting on a park bench in front of the White House.  He is surrounded by all 43 Presidents.  In the forefront, purposely ignoring the depressed man is Obama, whose right foot is stepping on the Constitution.  James Madison is next to Obama and pleading with him to stop.  The artist also uses objects such as discarded dollar bills as symbols and scraps of paper with individual constitutional amendments scrawled on them.

YOU WANT CONSCIENCE OR OBAMA?…..”Planned Parenthood” was off and then back on as a recipient of donations from “Komen For The Cure” (the highly successful pink ribbon folks fighting breast cancer) this past week.  “Komen” first reported ”PP” off temporarily for donations because they were under investigation but just a few days later, “Komen” reversed course…ooops. my bad.  Political persuasion involved here, do you think? 

On a far larger scale is the Obama Regime implmenting one of the more onerous aspects of that power-grab called Obamacare.  The regulation calls for employers to provide health insurance that includes contraception and abortifacient drugs.  This flies in the face of Catholic teaching and beliefs.  The Obama has given the Catholics one year to implement.  What a guy!  Religious liberty?  What is that, ponders “Dear Leader.”  Who will this affect?  Everything Catholic:  hospitals, schools, doctors, all catholic charities, and the millions of people who depend on them.  To flout this Obama mandate will bring you severe penalties, warns the HHS honcho.  Over 150 Catholic Bishops have spoken out against this infringement of conscience and freedom of religion.  Coercion and intimidation are cornerstones for the Obama Regime.  (Just one more reason to vote next November as if your life depends on it.  It does.)

ANOTHER WIN FOR ROMNEY…..Chalk up another win for Mitt Romney, Nevada.  This was sort of a no-brainer, was it not?  For those getting distressed about Romney’s lack of “Red Meat” commentary, have heart.  Read what Jonah Goldberg of Townhall has to say.

“A President Romney would be on a very short leash.  A President Gingrich would probably chew thru his leash in the first ten minutes of his Presidency, and then wander off into trouble.  If elected, Romney must follow thru for conservatives and then honor his vows to repeal Obamacare, implement Congressman Paul Ryan’s agenda, and stay true to his pro-life commitments. 

Moreover, Romney is not a man of vision.    He is a man of duty and purpose.  He was told to “fix” health care in ways Mass. would like.  He was told to “fix” the 2002 Olympics.  He was told to create Bain Capital.  He did it all.  This man does his assignments. 

“In this light, voting for Romney isn’t a betrayal, it’s a transaction.”

(Fox News) In an effort to cut the unemployment rate among veterans, the Obama administration is calling for a new conservation program that would put veterans to work rebuilding trails, roads and levees on public lands.

Let’s give him some credit for wanting to reduce the unemployment rate among veterans, even if it is surely politically motivated, geared towards peeling off some veteran support from the GOP for Election 2012. But, let’s face it, it is pathetic that Obama thinks the best use of men and women who served in the most professional, educated, modern, and high-tech military ever seen is to get them jobs as menial workers. Granted, they would get paid well, being federal money and all. But, they are certainly more capable then being offered ditch digger jobs. Not to mention simply creating new government jobs, rather than private sector ones.

Of course, much like with his Stimulus, the jobs probably do not exist. Furthermore, the idea, like most of his ideas, isn’t particularly original

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the Civilian Conservation Corps that operated during the 1930s could be viewed as a model for what the administration will try to accomplish through its “Veterans Jobs Corps.” He said that the administration will propose spending $1 billion that would be used to put an estimated 20,000 veterans to work restoring habitat and eradicating invasive species, among other activities.

So now the Obama admin. is looking towards Depression era make-work programs that failed to stimulate the economy, and helped keep the USA mired in depression for a decade.”
