President Obama and his fellow ProgLibs have fouled up so badly during the last two years that they face a historic backlash that should bury any hint hint of liberal, big government plans or proposals for several decades. It is good this is so because our out-of-sight national debt has greatly harmed our national security. There is also the little matter of how are we going to pay for it.
Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton told the Council on Foreign Relations in September that “Our rising debt levels pose a national security threat.” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Admiral Michael Mullen has stated, The biggest threat we have to our national security is our debt…the interest on our debt is $571 billion in 2012 and that’s about the size of the Defense Department budget. It is not sustainable.”
Want more” Politico reports that “The Pentagon sponsored a first-of-its-kind war game on how hostile nations might seek to cripple the US economy” (the weapons being stocks, bonds, and currencies)…”it was the first time the Pentagon hosted a purely economics war game.”
As with all his legislation, Americans oppose this massive national debt accumulation by Obama. Seems to me that consensus is building that to preserve national security and American standing as the world’s number one superpower, the US must rebuild its economic strength at home by significantly cutting the federal deficit.
President Reagan had it right when he said, “We don’t have a trillion-dollar debt because we haven’t taxed enough. We have a trillion-dollar debt because we spend too much.”
You would think Obama would finally, finally begin to understand. But no, he continues his feckless ways and now is looking to add yet another$50 billion “stimulus” for our infrastrcuture. Oh yes, he is now adding a caveat, of sorts. He proposes adding to the federal tax we pay for our gas. I am sure this will not hurt the middle-class, poor people, or seniors. He will also be saving some money by refusing any cost-of-living for those on social security, for his second year in a row. I am sure his special committee on how to balance the budget will come out with some really fantastic new methods to rectify this financial problem, especially with his buddy Andy Stern (formerly Boss of SEIU) helping with the “solution.”
This is a manure trailer for you non-farm folks.
Seems to me our Prez is facing two problems in this regard…running up our national debt and endangring our national security, as well as not having a clue as to how to pay for his continuing outlandish expenditures. His :stimulus” plan cost much more than the LouisianaPurchase and the Marshall Plan combined and it did absolutely nothing for our economy. His ten-year budget? Are you kidding me? It will leave America with more debt than all the Presidents in American history…combined.
Yet, he tells us, “I refuse to leave our children with a debt they cannot repay, and that means taking responsibilility for getting spending under control.”
On the other side of the coin is National Security. I am sure Obama had no idea that Secretary of State Clinton would make these following remarks. She certainly wasn’t reciting from the Obama play book. What she said, however, sums up our challenge vividly.
“It undermines our capacity to act in our own interest, and it does constrain us where constraint may be undesirable. And it also sends a message of weakness internationally. I don’t think we have a choice. It is a question of how we decide to deal with this debt and deficit. There is no free lunch, and we cannot pretend that there is without doing grave harm to our country and our future generations.”
There is an old saying that Obama must have missed in his earlier years. It goes like this. “If your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep will be your downfall.”
Sure wish he had paid attention.

So glad they got that Socially Liberal foolishness & idiocy out of their system in well under 2 years. To think some even predicted 40 years of demoncratic rule. How dumb were they?
Would someone please turn on the PTO on that John Deere manure Spreader? Oh please, oh please!!!!!
Yep, Backed up and Archived here on RightTurnForever. Kinda like a gun safe to keep the children away from that which is important and/or sacred. They can not be trusted with something as important as the truth.
Gabriel – Once again so nice to have somewhere to come where we know the truth can not be squelched. Bet that really gets the perverts and varmints PO’d.
A very good article on spending and the debt:

Here is an article on how you can win a Nobel Prize for stating the obvious, which is what economists do. They observe what is happening and make up a rule to fit the results.

This passage is especially interesting: “The research has also focused on unemployment insurance, with one conclusion being that more generous benefits give rise to higher unemployment—because workers spend more time looking. This ultimately is a benefit to the economy, however, because it leads to workers landing jobs that better use their capabilities.”
A lot of people are probably wondering when the “ultimately” will occur and how long it might last. The economists will undoubtedly have to wait and see the results prior to answering the question.
One of the Nobel Prize winners, named Diamond, has been nominated to sit on the board of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. Much is now being made of his winning the Nobel Prize. But wait, didn’t Obama win a Nobel Prize? Oh well, I suppose the Nobel Prize is better than nothing.
USMC…Quite likely so. I get so tired of censorship. Guess you notice they discriminate. The last few Right Turns show this beautifully. This is why I essentially left. Awaiting the Glisch “you are no longer needed” email, I continue to include a first paragraph or so and try to point people to “Forever.”
Speaking of freedom of speech, check out this link.

Here’s an interesting article from the New York Times: I Can Afford Higher Taxes. But They’ll Make Me Work Less.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/10/business/economy/10view.html?src=me&ref=business
You know the world is coming to and end when the NYT starts publishing more common-sense views rather than its usual uber-lib junk.
Speaking of increased unemployment benefits. Part of the spendulous and subsequent home bailouts included a program to pay your mortgage for you. With all the benefits you get on unemployment, one can live care free with mortgage repayment included.
Obama is doing what he was taught to do when he was young. He cannot depart from it now. If only that 53% had realized how he thinks, our lives could have been better.
From my post on FT (since it won’t last there…)
obama is clueless. One of the big-ticket items he promised from the stimulus was ‘shovel-ready’ infrastructure projects. The problem was that there really were few to none that were ‘shovel ready’. In fact I have seen those $17,000 ‘stimulus at work’ signs in the northeast, one where the road had been done 3 years ago, well before the stimulus. Unless the $17,000 WAS the stimulus…
What obama seems to be missing is that 50 billion here, 26 billion there, 800 billion everywhere really starts adding up after a while. But he doesn’t really have to worry about a budget anyway since this year the budget was “deemed” passed so there really was no budget to be concerned about right?
Repub- Some of those 53% voted for him precisely because they knew his way of thinking and thought they’d directly benefit, and they have. Food stamp use is at record levels as is Medicaid enrollment. Unemployment insurance is up to 99 weeks with some of those “99 ers” picketing for another extention. The wealthy and the successful are being demonized and targeted because they have more than much of the population, as if that was immoral or illegal.
Remember- obama has approval ratings of 91% within one certain population, the same population that has the highest crime rate, unemployment rate, illegitimacy rate and prison rate. It’s safe to say that the greed and selfishness of these and many other people is what got obama elected. Many had self-serving motivation and could give a hoot about the rest of the country as long as they get ‘theirs’. Sad.
I posted this on FT since, as I knew, my post was poofed. No matter, I unpoofed it.
Having fun varmint? So are we. We have a varmint free zone that you can’t touch. But we do enjoy the clear evidence of your panic. Your erasing our posts is nothing more than an amusing game to us. We can small your fear, smells just like a wet dog.
And hey, if you get off on believing you can change the facts by erasing them you are in for one doozie of a shock on November 3. Better stock up on your meds!10/12/2010 9:09 PM EDT on floridatoday.com
I thought more like Jack Ass dung on a hot Summer Day.
Examiner…I am duly impressed with these Nobels. I have frequently wondered how this “Prize” came into being. As you point out, Obama won one of those things and that sorta sets the stage for intellectual acumen. “Hope and change” is a mighty intellectual exercise, no doubt. Your two links are spot-on, I believe. I would suppose it a “new” age we live in, where up is down and down is up; where empiracle evidence is ascertained by intellectuals reading newspapers about events over time. It appears America has an AC and a DC; Before Obama and the Glorious Now.
In another vein, it is a shame that O’Donnell is likely to lose in Delaware. Castle could have won but in the end what would have been won?

Yeah, but so did carter, algore LLC, and yassir iareaputz. No real talent or qualifications necessary. Now President Harry S. Truman should have won one.
Fast…Your writing is masterful. The day is coming when Obama will be no more than a sorry little man sitting in the Oval Office all alone and talking to himself. The leftist media, even then, will not give up. They look at the Obama and see themselves. They are just out to make the world a better place, don’t you know. They insist that America needs to shrink itself into a smaller, quieter, less judgmental partner and do so while the western hemisphere goes off a left wing cliff.
This link shows how many American service members may not, in fact, vote come 2 November. Keep your eye on this. I know what DOJ says but I also know Holder’s DOJ.

REngineer…It is insidious, albeit true. When you rob from Peter to pay Paul you can always count on Paul’s vote. Come 2011, Congress can and should start to bring government down to it’s right size simply by following its own rules regarding program authorization and the appropriations process. If they did just that, huge savings in expenditures would be made.
Lies and constant lies, my young friend. Check out this link.
